Cocoa:

Kai:
You did a DNA test behind my back? Without telling me? Without even asking?

Cocoa:

Kai (tears in his eyes):
So who is he then? If it’s not Anthony… who is my father?

Cocoa (deep breath, guilt all over her face):
His name is Marcus. Marcus Hayes. We were… together for a while before I met Anthony. I wasn’t sure at the time, and when I found out I was pregnant, Anthony was already in my life. He was the one who stayed.

Anthony (voice cold):
And you never thought to tell me?

Cocoa:
I was scared. I thought if I told you, you’d leave. And I needed you… we needed you.

Kai (looking between them):
So Marcus… where is he now?

Cocoa:
He lives in Atlanta. He’s married. Has two other kids. I reached out to him last week.

Simone:
Wait—you already told him?

Anthony (stunned):
So you’ve had this whole secret reunion going on behind our backs?

Cocoa:
It wasn’t like that! I just… I wanted to know how he’d feel. If he’d be open to meeting Kai.

Kai (angrily):
And what did he say?

Cocoa:
He said he’s willing to meet you. He’s nervous, but he wants to talk. I told him only if you want that.

Anthony (voice breaking):
So that’s it? I’m just… replaced?

Kai (turning to him):
No. No, Anthony—you’re still my dad. Nothing’s going to change what you’ve done for me. What we have.

Cocoa (teary-eyed):
I never wanted to hurt either of you. I made a mistake by hiding the truth, but I never stopped loving this family. You’re both my world.

Simone (gently):
The truth always comes out, Cocoa. But it’s what we do after that truth that defines us.

Kai (looking at the test results):
I don’t know what to feel right now. I want to meet Marcus… but I need time. And I’m not turning my back on Anthony. Ever.

Anthony (finally speaking softly):
